Brief Description
This comprehensive, hands-on workshop is designed to equip anesthesia providers, intensivists, and emergency physicians with the essential cognitive and technical skills required to manage both unanticipated and anticipated difficult airways. Structured around the latest Difficult Airway Society (DAS) 2025 guidelines, the program provides a systematic, station-based approach to mastering the full spectrum of airway management—from initial assessment to crisis resolution.
Morning Session: Unanticipated Difficult Airway Management
The morning session focuses on the critical “Cannot Intubate, Cannot Oxygenate” (CICO) scenario and its stepwise management. Participants will rotate through five practical stations designed to develop proficiency in key airway management techniques.
Afternoon Session: Anticipated Difficult Airway Management
The afternoon session transitions to the management of patients with known or predicted difficult airways. Participants will explore advanced, technology-driven solutions through five specialized stations, focusing on the assessment, planning, and management of anticipated difficult airways.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Ability to do Fiberoptic Simulation and Retromolar Intubation on manikins.
- Able to do Ultrasound Examination of airway on human volunteers.
- Ability to perform Surgical Airway on airway model.
- Ability to demonstrate successful use of Video Laryngoscopy and combined technique on manikin.
