Workshop Description
This comprehensive Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Workshop, led by faculty from the American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA), is designed to enhance the practical ultrasound skills of anesthesiologists, intensivists, emergency physicians, and perioperative clinicians. Through expert-led lectures and interactive sessions, participants will gain hands-on knowledge in airway and lung ultrasound, hemodynamic assessment, and transesophageal echocardiography (TEE), enabling the integration of POCUS into daily clinical practice for improved patient care and decision-making.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Understand the fundamental principles and clinical applications of Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in perioperative and critical care settings.
- Perform and interpret airway and lung ultrasound for assessment of airway anatomy and common pulmonary pathologies.
- Apply POCUS techniques to evaluate hemodynamic status and guide fluid and cardiovascular management.
- Recognize the indications, basic views, and interpretation of transesophageal echocardiography (TEE).
- Integrate POCUS findings into real-time clinical decision-making to improve patient safety and outcomes.
